Grammar in discourse. A practical handbook.

The grammar of a language is a rather abstract concept. It is indeed difficult for some people to understand how linguistic elements fit together and work in the language we use every day, grammar is “not something you can easily see or hear. This book offers a simplified description of English grammar through the study of the morphological and syntactic units ‒ word, phrase, clause and sentence ‒ emphasising the fact that linguistic elements perform a function in discourse.
